Steps

  1. Go to the Test Your Device page

  2. Enable your camera and microphone

  3. Test your camera and microphone

  4. If you missed the pop-up (optional)

  5. If your camera and mic are still not working
    - MacOS
    - Windows

Step 1: Go to the Test Your Device page

Before class, you can test your camera and mic on Moxie's Test Your Device page: https://moxie.xyz/studio/test. You do not need an account to test your device.

Logged in, you can also get to this page by doing the following:

  1. Click your name in the top right corner (3 horizontal lines on mobile).

  2. Click Test Your Device.

Step 2: Enable your camera and microphone

You should see a pop-up asking for permissions to use your camera and microphone for the class. It’s critical to enable them for an awesome Livestream class experience.

Step 3: Test your camera and microphone

  1. Select your speaker. You can test if your speaker is connected and working using the red TEST button - you should hear a bell sound.

  2. Select your microphone. You can ensure your mic is working using the Input Level bar, it will move up and down when it detects you speaking.

  3. Select your camera. Your camera feed will appear in the box on the right of the page.

Optional - Step 4: If you missed the pop-up

If you missed the pop-up window - no worries. While on the Test Your Device page, you can follow the steps below to enable your camera and microphone at any time.

Chrome

  1. Click the lock icon to the left of your address bar. A pop-up will appear with a list of permissions management options.

  2. Click the drop-down list to the right of the Camera label.

  3. Choose the option Allow.

  4. Click the drop-down list to the right of the Microphone label.

  5. Choose the option Allow.

  6. Reload the page.


Safari

  1. Try refreshing the page - the permissions pop-up should appear again.

  2. If the pop-up did not appear, on the top bar click on Safari -> Preferences.

  3. In the preferences window, navigate to the Website section, find Camera, click on moxie.xyz selector and choose "Allow".

  4. Repeat the same for Microphone.

  5. Reload the page.


Camera and mic still not working? Try the below steps.

MacOS

  1. Click the Apple icon (top lefthand corner of the screen).

  2. Click System Preferences.

  3. Click Security & Privacy.

  4. Click Camera or Microphone.

  5. Verify the checkbox is checked for your internet browser.

Windows

  1. Click Start (Windows icon).

  2. Open Settings (gear icon).

  3. Click on Privacy.

  4. Click on Camera or Microphone.

  5. Under Allow apps to access your camera, verify the toggle is set to On.

  6. Under Allow desktop apps to access your camera, verify the toggle is set to On and your browser is listed.
